Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Sir Francis Darwin FRS, 11 Egerton Place, SW |
Date | 4 February 1913 |
Description | 'Replying to your note of yesterday about the Croonian lecture, the procedure we are following this year is one adopted by the Council last year, namely, that of appealing direct to individual members of three biological committees for suggestions, in preference to the older procedure of asking the three committee to meet and make a joint recommendation. The Council found that system did not work well somehow and they tried the present one, under which the Council decides between the competing claims of the different sciences; so I suppose all I am authorized to ask you for is your individual opinion. I take this opportunity of writing on a separate sheet on Scientific Relief business.' |
