Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Captain H [Henry] G [George] Lyons FRS |
Date | 18 February 1913 |
Description | 'We have received a paper by Dr Newell Arber entitled "Apreliminary note on the fossil plants of the mount potts beds, New Zealand" collected in the course of Captain Scott;s Antartic Expedition (1911), communicated by Professor McKenny Hughes. These fossil plant papers have hitherto generally been dealt with the Botany Committee, but this one seems to have special geological interest and makes us doubt whether it should not be reported to the Geology Sectional Committee. The Biological Secretary is prepared to take responsibility os passing it for publication, and I propose to report it to the Botany Chairman in any case; but it is thought proper that you should have a voice in the matter. It is quite a short paper, estimated to occupy only four pages of Proceedings, and has two plates.' |
