Description | Requests any information about the London Topographical Society and a new society which I believe is called the London Society, and whether either or both of them would be likely to take any active part in endeavouring to save the house in St Martin's Street in which Sir Isaac Newton and afterwards Fanny Burney lived. It is reportedly threatened with demolition, and if anything can be done to save it would be well. The Royal Society has no real locus standi in the matter. |
