Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to The Manager, District Messenger Company Limited, 100 St Martin's Lane, W.C. |
Date | 13 June 1913 |
Description | During recent operations by the workmen of H M Office of Works upon the roof of the building, Harrison's attention was called to the fact that wired have been stretched across the roof without any knowledge on the part of either the Office of Works or of the Royal Society. One of the wires has been attached to a chimney stack in such a position as to interfere very seriously with the access to one portion of the roof.
Has been informed this is to do with their system of signals, and assuming this is true, asks what authority they have from the Royal Society or from the Office of Works, and how the men who fixed it gained access to the roof without the knowledge or permission of anyone connected with the building. |
