| Description | 'The arrangements about the deputation to the Prime Minister have so far not passed through my hands, as I have been away ill for a month; but from the notes I have collected I understand that the deputation is to consist of the Drafting Committee, of whom you are one plus Sir Henry Roscoe and PRofessor W H Perkin and the Presidents of the Societies of Chemical Industry and Public Analysts and the Institute of Chemistry.
The Prime Minister being unable to attend to the matter himself has asked the President of the Board of Trade to receive the deputation and we are awaiting his convenience; but I see by the papers that he is laid up, so I suppose the matter will be developed somewhat.
