Description | 'Paper by Dr A Tutton; "The monoclinic double on sulphates, containing ammonium". Both referees are in favour of publication in the Proceedings, but as the paper is estimated to print to 75 pages it cannot be dealt with summarily under SO [Standing Order] 43. Prof Pope says the paper should certainly be published in full but "in my opinion it would gain by being written rather more concisely, but I am not prepared ti suggest any modification". Sir Henry Miers says, "this is the latest of Dr Tutton's admirable investigations. Whenever his papers have been referred to me I have reported that, in my opinion, they are somewhat prolix and would be improved by abbreviation. But this paper is exactly on the lines of its predecessors, some of which have been published in the Proceedings, and I therefore recommend that it should be printed in full". Will the Chairman please say what action should be taken having regard to the length of the paper?' |
