DescriptionWriting to give thanks for the miniature portrait of Captain [Henry] Foster, Copley Medalist of the Royal Society [1827 'For his magnetic and other observations made during the Arctic expedition to Port Bowen'] sent by Sir Richard Threlfell after Miss Annie Foster handed it to him for presentation. Advises it was laid before the President [Sir Joseph John Thomson, PRS] and Council of the Royal Society 23 October, and has been placed in a suitable location in the apartments of the Royal Society.
