| Description | Advises that the Royal Society has not been considering the issue of the reform of the calendar. It would more naturally be considered by the International Research Council, which was recently established to coordinate international efforts in different branches of science. The International Astronomical Union, a branch of the International Research Council, has appointed a Committee to deal with all questions of changes of the calendar, and he advises communicating with them. The President of the International Astronomical Union is Professor A Fowler, FRS, of Imperial College, SW 7, and the Committee is the 'Commission de la refore du calendrier' (No.32). |
