TitleCopy letter from Sir James Hopwood Jeans, FRS, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Joseph Larmor, FRS, MP
Date7 January [1920]
DescriptionWhile understanding that engagement in Parliamentary affairs prevents his making a definite arrangement for the date, advises that the Council of the Royal Society has arranged a meeting for 5 February for discussion on the Theory of Relativity which Sir James Hopwood Jeans will be opening, and they would be very glad of the presence of Sir Joseph Larmor, FRS, even more so if he can contribute to the discussion. Arrangements so far would be for [Arthur Stanley] Eddington, FRS, to follow Sir Jeans, and after that [Sir Frank Watson] Dyson, FRS, [Astronomer Royal] and then [Alfred] Fowler, FRS, will speak on astronomical and spectroscopic observations.
