TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Professor [Ernest William] Hobson, FRS, and Professor [William Henry] Young, FRS
Date26 April 1921
DescriptionRefers to Professor [Ernest William] Hobson's and Professor [William Henry] Young's letters asking that the Society pay the subscription to the International Mathematical Union. Informs them that he and Sir Arthur Schuster have considered this request, and believe that for the Society to do so would go against the Statutes of the Union, which stipulate that the subscription shall not exceed [£]125 per unit. Therefore writes that the Society will not act until the amount to pay has been properly fixed by the competent authority.
