Title | Copy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Dr. [John Louis Emil] Dreyer; 14 Staverton Road, Oxford |
Date | 2 February 1922 |
Description | Informs Dr. [John Louis Emil] Dreyer that they have found a bundle of 70 autographed letters of [John] Flamsteed from 1672-1687 'in a cupboard'. Explains that they are in a poor condition, however, that the content looks of considerable interest. Asks Dr. Dreyer if he is able to call at the Society and consider whether they ought to be preserved. Notes that he would be doing the Society a great service. |
