TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Frank [Watson] Dyson, FRS
Date16 February 1922
DescriptionExpresses discontent with Sir Frank [Watson] Dyson's procedure of appointing delegates indiscriminately, as seen at the National Committee for Astronomy. Notes that it is the Society's duty to see that the sums of money deposited with the various [International] Unions are well spent, and therefore to ensure that none but trustworthy people are sent as delegates. Suggests hosting another meeting of the National Committee to formally appoint their delegates, and notes that only once this is done will Council agree to cover their travel expenses.
