TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Lord Rayleigh [Robert John Strutt], FRS
Date17 July 1923
DescriptionThanks Lord Rayleigh [Robert John Strutt] for his report on L. C. Jackson's paper 'Investigations on Paramagnetism at Low Temperatures', asks whether it should go into Proceedings or Transactions, and discusses whether the paper should be cut down. Informs Rayleigh that he has just received O. F. T. Roberts' paper 'The Theoretical Scattering of Smoke in a Turbulent Atmosphere', sent by [George Clarke] Simpson. Believes that [Geoffrey Ingram] Taylor would be the best referee, or possibly [Sidney] Chapman, and asks for a second opinion. Also asks whether [Geoffrey Ingram] Taylor's paper 'Experiments on the Motion of Solid Bodies in Rotating Fluids' should be passed under Standing Order 43, and mentions he has sent it to the printers.
