TitleCopy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to David Prain, Treasurer of the Royal Society
Date23 February 1924
DescriptionIn relation to the Mablethorn Land. Updates David Prain with news heard from Francis Alexander Towle's brother that the value of the land has decreased due to the sale of an acre to Mr. Hooton, which has prevented a road being able to be built across it, according to the people Towle's brother consulted in Boston. The same people value the land at £50 an acre and would advise the sale of land at that price. States that Smith, Oakley & Gerrard have been written to inform them that a Financial Committee cannot be summoned solely for the purpose of a land sale. 'I think Mr. Hooton is probably a cute man, anyhow he seems to have queered the pitch up a bit.'
