Title | Copy letter from Francis Alexander Towle, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Charles Sherrington, President of the Royal Society |
Date | 28 March 1924 |
Description | Updates Charles Sherrington on the situation of the Arundel Collection; states that the catalogue has been sent to Prof. [Archibald Byron] Macallum, and since the last meeting, the British Museum has agreed to take the four volumes, paying £160 for them. States that Sotheby's have been informed that the Royal Society intends to rid the books but the manner has yet to be decided upon. Reminds Sherrington that if he is in contact with any prospective buyers, the Royal Society intends to keep the scientific books mentioned in the catalogue and others not catalogued. Advices Sherrington not to attend the Government Grant Committee unless well. |
