Description | Updates John Charles Grant Ledingham of the results of a letter he sent to Sir John Rose Bradford. That the matter in the letter was put to the Physiology Committee who decided to publish both papers recently reported on by Ledingham, against his advice. William Bate Hardy provides further detail, that his suggestions for one paper was communicated to the author, who Hardy feels did make a serious attempt to meet his criticism. The criticisms of the second paper was not communicated to the author as 2 other referees reported favourably on it. States that although a paper can be published on the report of a single referee, it is the exception to reject a paper based on the same. Gives an extract of the minutes of the meeting of the Physiology Committee. |
