TitleCopy letter from James Hopwood Jeans, Secretary of the Royal Society; to Sir Richard Glazebrook, K.C.B, FRS
Date15 May 1924
DescriptionUpdates Richard Glazebrook on the matter of Mallock's application for the Government Grant Committee, particularly his unhappiness with the decision of the Committee. States that Mallock has written to Jeans with the assumption that the Chemistry Committee, who would not know what he meant by pure iron, considered his application, that the purity of German iron was beside the point and Mallock would never knowingly purchase it. States that Jeans will write to him but that Glazebrook should know of the situation beforehand. Mentions an article 'The latent and specific heats of iron and steel' which appeared in the 'Nature' journal, 19 April 1924, which was used by Mallock to support his objections to the decision.
