TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date6 March 1893
DescriptionDiscusses Hollick's estimate for [Edwin Tulley] Newton's plates and asks if he should accept. Wonders if they should move the Croonian Lecture to a larger location, if this is to be done an announcement should be made in next Thursday's 'Nature'.

Dr [Charles Scott] Sherrington has called and the Society is obtaining estimates for his figures to be done as cuts. Meanwhile Sherrington is looking out the negatives of those which are to be done as plates. Rix has not yet taken steps to obtain estimates for plates and Sherrington had not expressed any wish as to who shall do them.

The office has already sent Dr Waymouth Reid's paper to Dr Gaskell. Rix has not yet received all Virchow's lecture and shall get the proof off by tomorrow night. Encloses a letter from the LCC [London County Council, not attached] and wonders if he may send some copies in its present form without waiting for the author's references and re-making into new pages.
