TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor Michael Foster, Secretary, Royal Society
Date19 March 1894
DescriptionRix explains to Foster that Dr David Ferrier and Dr William Aldren Turner submitted a paper on 30 November, which was read on 14 December, and referred to Mr Langley on 15 December, who sent no report, and referred to Dr Charles Scott Sherrington on 1 January, and Professor Edward Albert Schafer on 5 February.

On 10 March Schafer wrote to say that he would need another week or ten days. However, that afternoon Ferrier has visited for the second time, to complain about the delay and explain that their work is being done again by other people, and so he wishes to hasten the publication. Rix asks if a line from Foster to Schafer would have the desired effect, or if he could name a fourth referee in case Schafer does not report that week.
