Date4 December 1885
DescriptionStrutt refers Tomlinson to the regulation passed by the Council of the Royal Society for the administration of the Government grant, appended to this letter [not attached]. Tomlinson's application of 27 November [1885] comes within the scope of this rule and cannot therefore be brought before the Government grant committee at their meeting this month. The next meeting will be held in May 1886 and Tomlinson should therefore give notice of his application by the end of next month or the beginning of February.
