DescriptionThe President and Council of the Royal Society have awarded Clarke a Royal Medal for his comparison of standards of length and determination of the figure of earth and Her Majesty has been pleased to approve the award. They hope Clarke will be present at the Anniversary Meeting of the Society on 30 November to receive the medal from the President. A card inviting Clarke to attend the dinner at Willis' Rooms a a guest of the Society was sent to Clarke's old address. If not yet received Clarke should communicate with the Assistant Secretary.
