| Description | Minchin's paper does not seem to have been passed by the Committee yesterday. Rix notes Professor [Edwin Ray] Lankester urges that it should be put through at once, therefore Rix write to ask whether Foster has any instruction reading it. At the same time, Mr Minchin informs Rix that he is leaving England this week, so Rix supposes it is not of much use to press the paper forward.
Asks for the address of Stoddart of Laleham so that he can send a Soiree programme.
The minute about the Water Report was that it be printed subject to such reduction, especially of the illustrations, as the Committee might feel able to recommend. Rix wonders if this implies that something ought to be done about the text as Professor [Harry Marshall] Ward does not appear to have done anything to this. Ward cut down the illustrations and they are now nearly finished. |
