TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Mr Pilbeam, Whitehall Rooms
Date3 December 1895
DescriptionRix reports that they have examined the cards with their marked plan, and note that 233 guests were present, but they have been charged for 234. He explains that the discrepancy was caused by Professor [Edwin Ray] Lankester arriving without his guest and handing over two cards. Subsequently, when his guest arrived without knowing that both cards had been handed, he was counted as an additional guest.

Rix asks that they correct their account accordingly.
