TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to George Udny Yule, [Fellow of the Royal Society], University College, London
Date7 January 1896
DescriptionRucker explains that Yule's paper exceeds the maximum length for 'Proceedings of the Royal Society' by one-fifth, so he has referred it in order to get an opinion on whether it can be abridged.

He encloses a copy of the opinion of referee A, and asks whether Yule will comply with his recommendations. As he may wish to verify references in the report, Rucker also encloses the paper itself, which he is to mark up and return if he agrees to the changes. If he does not wish to make the changes he is to return the paper in its current state, though Rucker trusts he will understand the necessity of reducing its length.
