DescriptionJames states that Dyer will already have received the summons for the Botany Committee. In the absence of Robert William Frederick Harrison, James reminds Dyer of the committee's business, namely formal votes on a paper by Sydney Howard Vines 'Preliminary Communication on a Theory of the Suction-Force of Branches', and by Dunkinfield Henry Scott 'On Cheirostrobus, a new type of Fossil Cone from the Calciferous Sandstone'. Also, referred from Council, is the matter of an application from the Linnean Society for a grant from the Publication Fund to publish a paper by the late Mr John Ball.
