Harrison is looking for Mr Selous's address, and has enquired at the Geographical Society who advised trying the Hotel Metropole. A manuscript annotation states that Harrison is afraid that they will not catch Selous before he leaves London.
He reports that the Tsetse Fly notices went out on Saturday morning and should have reached Foster yesterday, but that if he thinks this insufficient notice for Committee meetings he should let him know.
He encloses a letter from Dr Billings regarding classification in physiology and one from Alex Brown which accompanied a paper, and asks what he should do concerning the condition of communication by a Fellow.
Harrison has wired Foster about the International Catalogue Committee meeting, having heard from Arthur Rucker that Friday does not suit Foster. He enquires whether next week would now be best.
Professor Walter Frank Raphael Weldon has written to ask Harrison to summon a Plants & Animals Committee for 11 February at 2.30pm, but he has responded that he will consult with Foster first, especially as Weldon mentioned Foster's wish to attend. Harrison asks if he should follow his instructions to summon the Committee even though he is not Chairman, or if he should consult the Chairman before sending out notices.
Dr Robert Kennedy wants to show some preparations under the microscope in illustrating his paper on the 'Regeneration of Nerves', and so has requested eight with high powers. As this is in excess of the number they could borrow from the Linnean Society, they would have to hire them. Harrison asks if they are to comply with this request.
Harrison has had this letter written in a form, which will allow Foster to return it with his replies against the queries. |
