TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Professor George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date22 December 1896
DescriptionHarrison has received the paper by Mr Yule with Darwin's note to Professor Arthur Rucker, enclosing Darwin's letter to Professor Karl Pearson. He reports that Rucker has left London for two weeks and so Harrison has to act on his behalf, further stating that as Pearson is not a member of Darwin's committee he cannot send him Darwin's request for his views on that paper, and so he suggests the best option is to get the agreement of Dr Michael Foster and send his note with the paper.

Harrison encloses the forms used for referring papers at different stages of their progress, and notes that should Darwin wish a paper to be referred for personal opinion or formal report under Standing Orders, he need only quote on the postcard the reference marked in the corner of the form, which will allow Harrison to act accordingly.
