TitleCopy letter from Arthur William Rucker, to Professor Osborne Reynolds, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date11 May 1897
DescriptionReynolds' paper has been finally passed for the '[Philosophical] Transactions [of the Royal Society]', by the board of the Committee of Physics and Chemistry. The abstracts [sic] are however very much longer than is now usual. Papers in the 'Proceedings [of the Royal Society]' are now restricted to 12 pages and Reynolds' abstract would exceed that limit. The Committee therefore desire that Reynolds reduce the paper. The abstract should be ready by Thursday week, when the Bakerian lecture is to be delivered. If possible asks for shortened abstracts within a few days.

If this is impossible the Society will get the abstract printed, without any portion Reynolds can conveniently omit. Asks Reynolds to return his own abstracts or the new shortened version as soon as possible.
