TitleCopy letter from [Michael Foster], to the Superintendent of African Protectorates
Date14 July 1903
DescriptionWith reference to the telegram of Colonel Sadler of 7 July, number 43, containing a message from Colonel [David] Bruce, in which the sentence 'Send Reece out' occurs. Foster has been in communication with the Local Government Board on the subject of despatching Dr Reece from that Department to Uganda. Regarding developments which have taken place in the investigation into the disease the Local Government Board, as will be seen from the enclosed letter [not enclosed], have doubts as to the suitability of employing one of their staff for rendering assistance, in the administrative sense, to the authorities dealing with the outbreak of the disease in Uganda. In these circumstances, it is desirable that the Society should know more precisely the services which Bruce desires of a Local Government Board inspector and Foster would therefore be glad if the enclosed telegram [not enclosed], could be dispatched to Bruce.
