Title | Copy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison, to Sir Michael Foster, Fellow of the Royal Society |
Date | 23 October 1903 |
Description | Encloses letters [not enclosed] and is not clear why they were sent to him in the first place. Encloses for signature a letter to the Local Government Board and to the War Office regarding Bruce [not enclosed]. Has taken it upon himself to submit a second draft of the latter letter, and sends both so that Foster may sign whichever he prefers [not enclosed]. It struck him in Foster's letter that it was not quite clear in what capacity or on whose authority Bruce had gone out, or on whose behalf Foster expressed opinion on Bruce's work. Also encloses a letter from [Henry George] Plimmer [not enclosed]. Harrison's instructions were that Plimmer was put on the Committee exclusively for the Tsetse Fly business. Plimmer is in any case an accessory member, but Harrison would like Foster's assurance that he has been proceeding correctly before writing to Plimmer. |
