TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Sir Charles Eliot
Date23 January 1906
DescriptionLarmor reports that the Committee considered the project of publishing the Alder and Hancock plates the previous Thursday. A report from the Zoology Committee indicated that, as the work would only be of historical value and their reputation is already established, publication of further material which does not progress the subject would be a matter for local effort rather than for the Royal Society. The support for this view, from the naturalists on the Council, meant the subject lapsed.

Larmor apologises for the trouble Eliot has been put to in light of the negative result.
