| Description | Geikie responds to the letter addressed to the Chairman of the Mediterranean Fever Commission enquiring when Professor Zammit will be able to resume his duties in the Public Health Department, stating that his services to the Commission have been so valuable that they would regret it if he were unable to continue that work until the enquiry's completion. The Commission's Chairman suggests that if he resume his ordinary duties, that he should be allowed to remain a member of the Commission so that he may be able to provide the benefit of his familiarity with Malta and the Maltese. If this should necessitate research which would interfere with his duties, the proposal would be officially submitted for approval by the proper authorities in Malta.
He adds that the Commission will continue until the end of the next summer, so communicates their hope that the Laboratory at the Public Health Office will remain at their disposal until its work is completed. |
