TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Professor Charles Sherrington, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date17 April 1907
DescriptionGeikie updates Sherrington concerning the paper he recently communicated to the Royal Society by Dr Charles Edward Walker, explaining that the the Chairman of the Committee and the referee are both dissatisfied with postscript added to the paper at the recommendation of the referee, acknowledging a previous paper on the topic by Professor Matthews of Chicago. He encloses a copy of the postscript and the remarks of the referee and chairman.

Geikie expresses his reluctance to have the matter before the Sectional Committee or the Committee of Papers given what has happened to Dr Walker in the past year. In the interests of harmony and speed of resolution, he asks that Sherrington use his influence with the author to amend the postscript in the manner indicated by the notes which Geikie encloses. He apologises for troubling Sherrington.
