Title | Copy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Arthur Schuster, [Fellow of the Royal Society] |
Date | 9 July 1907 |
Description | Geikie apologises that the Treasury letter about a delegate to the Committee of the Seismic Association had been overlooked, but assures Schuster that he is sure to be nominated for the role by the President of the Royal Society when the matter is presented to him.
Before asking for the President's authority to write to that effect to the Treasury, Geikie asks if Schuster believes it desirable or necessary to have a second delegate. He explains that the Treasury have asked this, and if Schuster recommends a second referee, asks who he would name. He mentions that Milne's name was proposed by Schuster some time ago, but he appears to be against the International Association, having been irritated by them, and so would be unlikely to agree. Geikie proposes Professor Turner and asks Schuster's opinion. |
