TitleCopy letter from Joseph Larmor, to Dr James Thomson Bottomley, [Fellow of the Royal Society]
Date19 August 1907
DescriptionIs sorry there are still difficulties about the printing of the memoir on radiation. One referee reports that there is no occasion to print an example of the working with the plotted diagrams at all and recommends everything essential would be given if the final long results are grouped. Personally Larmor thinks the graphs of the typical observations are striking and might be given, but that they would suffice without the tables. The matter seems so complex now that he fears it must wait for the Committee in October unless Bottomley is willing to agree to the graphs only appearing for the typical observations, and the other entries being grouped in fives, with say one lot given in full as typical. Larmor feels strongly that the mass of tables adds little to the face[?] of the paper.
