DescriptionIn response to Schuster's letter of 8 November, Harrison sends him two extracts from the Minutes of Council. The meeting on 16 June 1904 concerns the appointment of a Joint Committee of the Royal Society and the Royal Astronomical Society for cooperating with Professor Hale's Committee, to comprise of Sir William Huggins, Sir Norman Lockyer, Schuster and Mr Newall. At the meeting on 8 December 1904 it was resolved that the Solar Research Committee be constituted the Standing Committee on Solar Research as proposed by the St Louis Conference, with Schuster to be appointed the Royal Society's representative on the proposed International Committee.
