Description'Dear Sir,
By the same mail as this I am sending you a slip proof and the MS [Manuscript] of your paper on Welwitschia. I hope it may reach your hands safely.
I am at the same time sending you Figs 3-16 in order that you may decide which of these figures should be omitted.
I am directed by the Chairman of the Committee, to request you to reduce the length of the section of the paper which deals with the details of microspore formation and to instruct us which of the Figs. 3-16 may be omitted from the illustrations as published,'
