Description'Dear Sir,
Your letter of December 10th has been seen by Professor Larmor, who wishes me to return you the Manuscript of your paper "On the Mechanism of the Absorption of Hydrogen by Carbon" which you desire to withdraw for publication elsewhere. I shall be much obliged if, when acknowledging the safe receipt of your Manuscript, you will give me written assurance, as required by the Standing orders of Council, that the paper is to be regarded as not having been communicated to the Society at all.'
