TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to To the Permanent Secretary, Treasury Chambers
Date10 November 1910
DescriptionRegarding their letter of 15 October on the subject of the National Antarctic Expedition Fund, Geikie now states that on behalf of the Royal Society he has had a conference with the President of the Royal Geographical Society and agreement has been made as to the action which should be taken. It appears obvious that as so many of original subscribers to the fund contributed only small sums it would be practically impossible to repay them any proportion of their subscriptions.

It is proposed that the total, £668.8.3, be paid into the Fund which is being collected to defray the expenses of the Antarctic Expedition on which Captain [Robert Falcon] Scott has sailed.
