Description | 'I have to thank you for your letter of yesterday enclosing Dr Shipley's introduction. With reference to the last paragraph in your letter, no paper can be received by the Society unless it is communicated by a Fellow. A paper which has been read before the Society cannot be withdrawn; but if a paper is simply accepted for consideration and not read, it can by leave of Council be withdrawn by the communicator. Although in the former case the paper becomes the property of the Society, there is a rule no objection to the figures being returned to the author.' |
