Description'In the matter of the International Association of Academies, of which your Imperial Academy is at present the Directing Academy is at present the Directing Academy, I have the honour to inform you that the Royal Society is prepared with its annual contribution to the funds of the Association; but before sending a remittance I am to ask you to be good enough to inform me who is the proper officer of the Academy to whom payment should be made.
I am at the same time to beg you to note that the Royal Society has nominated Professor Arthur Schuster, Kent House, Victoria Park, Manchester, to be its representative member of the Council of the Association.
I shall be glad to receive an early notice of any arrangements for the meeting of that Council and have the honour to remain your obedient Servant.'
