TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to Professor H [Hugh] L [Longbourne] Callendar FRS
Date10 February 1912
Description'Before announcing the title of your paper on Specific Heat of Water as the subject of the Bakerian Lecture on the 22nd, I should like to consult you as to the precise title under which it should be advertised.
The title of the paper as registered "On the variation of the specific heat of water, with experiments by a new method", if advertised as a lecture would give the impression that you were going to show the experiments. If that is so, so much the better; but I imagine that the experiments described in your paper are hardly of a kind of suitable for repetition in the meeting room, and in that case it might perhaps be well to make some small verbal amendment of the title of the lecture.'
