TitleCopy letter from Robert William Frederick Harrison to the Librarian, Royal Society of Edinburgh, 22 George Street, Edingburgh
Date29 March 1912
Description'In answer to your letter of March 28, there is no recent general index to the Philosophical Transactions or Proceedings. The only general indexes issued are the following Phil Trans. indexes:-
1. The old Naty Index, 1787.
2. Continuation, 1821.
3. 2nd continuation, 1833.
The short history you mention is very possibly the Record of the Royal Society of which the second edition was issued in 1901, and of which a new and enlarged edition will be published this summer.'
We do not seem to have received a copy of the recent index to 12 volumes of your Transactions, but if you have one to spare it might be useful.'
