TitleCopy letter from Archibald Geikie, to Sir John Murray, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date3 July 1912
DescriptionBradford has been called down the War Office, so Geikie is writing instead. Lady Murray and himself have proposed to give dinner on the evening of 16 July, and Geikie was wondering if they would select guests from the enclosed list [no enclosures] for whom no hosts have been found.

A strong wish has been expressed that after the Windsor party dinners of a more friendly kind that the great banquet at the Guildhall should be arranged for. It is proposed to invite all the delegates who are accompanied by ladies to private parties, so that for once husband and wife or father and daughter may be entertained together. The Royal Society Club (1743) and a number of Fellows are arranging to dine all the rest of the bachelor delegates. Asks how it would suit their arrangements to take some of the delegates with their ladies.
