Description | 'Pringaheim's Jahrbucher. Title &c to Vol. 50, 1912. Referring to you letter of the 10th (received yesterday) re the above -- I am at a loss to understand your difficulty with the publishers. I cannot believe that they refuse to supply either the title by itself or a perfect part containing it. Every customer is entitled to perfect copies of all publications, and as there is no privity between the Royal Society and the publishers in Leipzig, we must look to you to see that all books supplied to us are perfect, or made so on our application. I may remind you that you still have the imperfect part which we returned to you at your request. I can only repeat that we must look to you to supply the volume complete, and in the event of your failing to do so, there will be no other course for us than to determine our subscription. I cannot entertain the suggestion to make that you should obtain for us at our expense either a new of a second-hand part.' |
