| Description | Regarding Sir Thomas Heath's letter of 14 July, relating to the appointment of a successor to the late Sir George Darwin as British delegate to the International Geodetic Association, Geikie informs them that the Council of the Royal Society, the body to which the letter under reference would be submitted, will not be meeting before the end of October. In the meantime Geikie feels sure that he would be acting within the general feeling of Council by suggesting Sir David Gill as representative. This was the known wishes of Darwin himself. |
