TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor J P van der Stok, Director of the Observatory Batavia, Java [Jakarta, Indonesia]
Date13 July 1892
DescriptionProfessor G H Darwin has communicated to the Royal Society a sentence from Stok's letter to Darwin which shows he is under a misapprehension concerning the Society's application to the Netherlands Embassy on 31 March 1892.

The application was to remind the Netherlands Minister that in October 1889, they lent the Government of the Netherlands a manuscript report on the tides of the Netherlands East Indies. The Society did not desire to press for its immediate return. The manuscript is not wanted for any present use but the Society would be glad to heave it returned as soon as Stok has finished with it.
