TitleCopy letter from Herbert Rix, to Professor George Howard Darwin, Fellow of the Royal Society
Date25 January 1894
Description'Dear Sir,
You are appointed second Referee for Prof. Korosi's [Professor Joseph Korosi] paper "On Statistics of Legitimate Births compiled from Observations made at Buda-Pesth". The paper is in German, but a translation was made of it. Unfortunately, the author left the translation in a cab, and it has not been recovered. Dr Foster desires me to ask you whether you are willing to examine the paper in the original German, or whether you desire to wait until a fresh translation can be made. Considerable delay will, of course, be caused by the latter course.
I am, yours truly,
H Rix
Asst. Sec. R.S. [Assistant Secretary, Royal Society]'.
