Title | Copy letter from Michael Foster, to His Excellency the Prime Minister to Her Majesty Queen Ranavolona III, Queen of Madagascar |
Date | 28 June 1894 |
Description | A letter of introduction for Dr Charles Forsyth-Major, a correspondent of the Zoological Society who is interested in natural science and wishes to travel in Madagascar to collect the bones and teeth of extinct animals and recent zoological specimens. Foster explains that the President and Council of the Royal Society believe Forsyth-Major's investigations to have promise of important scientific results, and have accordingly given a considerable grant to aid his work.
They hope that the Prime Minister will be able to extend the necessary facilities to allow Forsyth-Major to conduct his investigations to a successful end, and they assure him that such assistance will be considered a great benefit to biological science. |
