DescriptionThe second of two volumes, now disbound and held in boxes, containing the manuscript versions of papers published by the Royal Society in volume 155 of Philosophical Transactions in 1865. This volume comprises papers I-VIII.

The volume also includes some original illustrations and figures in various media (drawings, watercolours) in support of the papers.

Missing from this volume are manuscripts for the following papers:
'On the osteology of the genus glyptodon' by Thomas Henry Huxley; and
'On the composition of sea-water in the different parts of the ocean' by Georg Forchhammer, illustrations and tables only.
